Bringing the Tire Shop to You
At Turning Tires, we perform mobile tire changes in Calgary and the surrounding areas to ensure all your tire needs are met without taking up any of your precious time.
Why is it Important to get Winter Tires?
It is essential to have winter tires for winter season for a couple of reasons; Unlike summer tires, which are formed by a compound that hardens in colder weather and causes your vehicle to lose grip, winter tires are made by a special compound that softens and becomes sticky when the temperature drops below 7°C. This improves the grip of your vehicle and in-turn improves the safety for you and everyone around you.
The tread of winter tires have additional sipes which increases the traction in wet weather, snow and ice. They also have ribs, the raised rubber section that run around the circumference of the tire, helps steering in the snow, ice covered roads and wet surfaces.
